GOLF
The Central Coast Academy of Sport Srixon Golf squad traveled to Castle Hill recently for an Inter-Academy Challenge against the Western Sydney Academy of Sport. The annual challenge, now in its second year, was contested by 10 athletes from each Academy at the prestigious Castle Hill Golf and Country Club.
NETBALL
Stacey Markham is preparing to wear the green and gold for the second time in two years when she takes to the court for the Australian Indigenous Netball team next month. Markham was named in the national squad after she impressed as captain of the NSW Indigenous team recently.
TENNIS
The CCAS 2008 Tennis program commenced on Wednesday 27 February at Peninsula Leisure Centre with an orientation function followed by a range of sport science testing conducted by staff and students of The University of Newcastles Central Coast campus.

DONNICA CLARKE FOUNDATION SPORTS DINNER GIGANTIC SUCCESS!
The inaugural Donnica Clarke Foundation sports dinner was held at Mingara Recreation Club, at Tumbi Umbi, on April 12. It was the major fundraiser to establish the financial reserves to meet the aims of the foundation. Special guests included Alison Broadbent, and John Hutchinson from the Mariners and representatives from the Manly Sea Eagles. The dinner was an outstanding success with over four hundred people attending the gala night. At last count the night had raised an amount exceeding $80,000 towards the training and education of young talented athletes from the CentralCoast. Many thanks are extended to all who attended and participated in the raising of theses funds.

Central Coast Academy of Sport Short Track Speed Skating star Krysia Child is hoping a change of scenery will book her a place in the 2010 Australian Winter Olympic Team.
Child, 22, a former five time Australian champion figure skater relocated from Brisbane to the Central Coast in November last year to train at Erina Ice World such is the value of its ice.
